Soffit & Fascia

What are Soffit and fascia?

Soffit and Fascia are key parts of your home's roofing and exterior trim system. They serve both functional and aesthetic purposes, helping protect your roof structure and improving curb appeal.

Soffit

The soffit is the underside of the roof overhang—the area between the edge of the roof and the exterior wall. It’s usually made from vinyl, aluminum, wood, or fiber cement. Soffits can be vented or solid.

Primary Functions:
Ventilation: Vented soffits allow fresh air to circulate into the attic, reducing heat and moisture buildup.
Protection: Shields rafters and underside of eaves from water, pests, and weather.
Aesthetics: Provides a clean, finished look to the underside of the roof edge surfaces

Fascia

The fascia is the vertical board that runs along the roofline—mounted where the roof meets the outer walls. Typically installed behind the gutters. Made from wood, aluminum, vinyl, or composite materials.

Primary Functions:
Supports gutters: Provides a solid base for attaching gutters and downspouts.
Protects roof edge: Shields the ends of rafters from weather and pests.
Improves appearance: Creates a polished edge around the roof perimeter.
